Kaleb Horlick

Kaleb has been a PVU athlete since 2008.  He is a Junior at Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Kaleb's PR is 13'6".

This is what Kaleb has to say about his pole vault career and how it has changed since he started training with Gordy:

"My name is Kaleb Horlick, I am Jr. at Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I am just over 6ft tall, and am thinly built.

As far as my pole vaulting career, I started in 8th grade, but it was a fairly mediocre season. I jumped about 7'6".

But by my Freshman year (9th grade), I jumped 11ft. And that's when I began to fall in love with
the weightless feeling begotten when you begin to 'actually' pole vault.

Sophomore year (10th grade) I jumped 12ft, and barely missed qualifying for the state
competition. But that didn't frustrate me at all, if anything, it motivated me.

And so far, I am one indoor track meet into my Junior year (11th grade), and I have already gone 13'6"; a foot and a half over my sophomore
year's PR, and have set my goal to 14'6" for the end of the season!  This year feels like a great year, and through Gordon Sasser's help, I am rapidly moving back runs, up poles, up hand holds, and up PRs!!"
