Update

We had our first jump session outdoors this week. Its always an intense feeling how your perception differs from indoors to out. This year went really well. All plants and good adjustments to see the box. That was my second session from 14 steps. We have a couple of weeks to dial in the run, poles and grip before the first outdoor meet in Louisianna.

Update

We moved back to 14 steps this week. It was a very good transition to a longer run, bigger poles and more grip. The rhythm was comfortable and I was able to see the box better. This weekend we jump again and want to focus on the same committment at the box and dial in the run. After all, its March and that's the time to make break throughs.

Update

We had a couple of good jump sessions last week. The first from 12 steps. We moved the grip up to 14.9ft and got on the 4.75m poles. We really got some things working and moved poles well. At the end of the week, we jumped from 6 steps and worked technique a little more. After really working the hit at the bottom this year, I was able to get on bigger poles than ever from 6. Actually ended up holding 13.8ft on a 15ft 19.8 flex pole. Today, we woked on a 14 step run and plan to take few jumps on Wednesday to see how it turns out. We are looking to get on some bigger poles and get ready for some meets in a couple of weeks.

Saturday, Louis had his first jump session, planting in the box. We did some pole runs and got a good magic number of 5ft. He took his first jumps from 20.6ft holding 6.1ft and made the pit on his first attempt. He was pretty pumped and I was really proud of him. Today, he pulled his first tooth. So, he has a lot going on right now.

Update

We had our first jump session since our vacation. It was the second time from 12 steps. There were some nerves not having jumped for three weeks, but there were no run thrus and we started on a 15ft 17.7. It was a good confidence building day. This weekend we are going to work on raising my grip above 15ft from 12 steps and getting on our 4.75m series of poles. That should put us over a 5m bar. I will let you all know how it turns out. Consistent commitment.

Update

We just returned from Jamaica this week. Getting back in the routine and back to training. We had a great time and met a number of new people at the resort. They were all really great and made the stay even better than expected. The wedding was beautiful at the Round Hill resort. It was great to see Jay tie the knot and meet everyone in the wedding party. I hope to have pics on FB & Twitter soon.

Now it's time to get back to work and make some things happen on the track. We plan to continue some work from 12 steps this week and get ready for the outsoor season. We will keep you updated on the prgress.

Update

We had a really good progression day last night. Made the move to 12 steps and moved up poles and grip. Ran from 81.6 snd hit 36.8 on the mid. The numbers worked good and planted everything from start to finish. We had a really consistant commitment at the box. Looks like there will be one more jump session before a week off in Jamaica.

Update

We had a really good jump session on Tuesday. Still running from 10 steps and jumping on 16.0 holding 14.7ft and hitting a mid of 36ft jumping over 4.90m. Finally getting over the foot spasms and feeling confident I was able to be consistant in my commitment at the box. This has become a focus that I plan to hold onto throughout my progression this year. We have a meet this weekend at Arkansas State and then maybe two more sessions before a week off in Jamaica.

Louis had his first jump session on Sunday since his elbow was hurt. He had a great time and made me so proud to watch him jump all on his own. He has really got faster and taller in the last few months. I will get some video and add it to the site soon.
